NIRMALA COLLEGE

Description

1953- the year of the foundation of Nirmala College is written in letters of gold in the annals of the history of Muvattupuzha. When Higher Education was a rosy dream to many, especially to the less affluent, the establishment of a First Grade college within easy reach was indeed a God sent boon and the entire people living in and around Muvattupuzha Taluk benefited hugely from this great temple of learning.

Nirmala college, owned and managed by the Diocese of Kothamangalam became first grade in 1955. The successive years witnessed the growth of the institution in leaps and bounds and it is now heading to greater heights of quality and excellence.

At present there are 8 Post-Graduate courses, 13 Degree courses and and 3 Doctoral Departments. With the right kind of ammunition in the armory, the college presently occupies a distinct position amongst institutions of higher learning in Kerala and has indeed created a niche for itself through its excellent efforts in establishing traditions of academic as well as moral standards.

Nirmala College of Computer Science is a self financing wing of Nirmala College. It offers MCA course started in the year 2002 with the batch strength of 60.
