Description

Power your knowledge with continuing education. Taught by scientists and PhDs.

Is it possible to eat right for our genes? Could your inherited genes influence whether certain foods are good or bad for you? Can we really blame our Palaeolithic ancestors for our gluten sensitivity? Which sneaky gene makes the low-carb ketogenic diet risky for some? Might some of us carry the “vegetarian gene” – what does it do?

What I would highlight: The course is really insightful. Jamie Oliver's video made me realise a lot of people don't know the basics of nutrition, especially the parents!. I'm now on my journey to become a fitness instructor.

Ready To Power Your Continuing Education? Have you ever wondered why some of us thrive on protein-rich diets, while others do better with dairy or carbohydrates? Might your distant ancestral past hold the key? Gluten, lactose, saturated fat, fructose, folate, alcohol, caffeine… might your genes shape your ability (or lack of) to process these without ill effects? What kind of genetic testing can you do – and how can this help? We dive into evolutionary genetics to find the answers.

Learn about whether you should tailor your diet around your inherited genes, to how these may influence your ability to eat certain foods without ill effects!
