P.hd in Chemical Engineering:Alternative fuels
The department of Chemical engineering was established in the year 1995 with the intake of 40 students. The intake is now enhanced to 60. The department has well furnished classrooms and well equipped laboratories including a computer applications laboratory. The department has been accreditated by National Board of Accreditation for a period of five years (2004-2008). The department received the status as a recognized research center in 2004. The department offers the under graduate course in chemical engineering. The faculty strength of 7 members are a blend of both academic and industrial experience. All are post graduates, two of whom hold doctorates degree. It is supported by five experienced non-teaching staff. The thrust areas of research are identified as Biochemical Engineering, Bio Fuels and Petrochemicals with the emphasis on catalysis technology. The research center has received funding for projects under TAPTEC, MODROBS, RPS scheme from AICTE and from KSCST.
