Physiotherapy is that branch of Medical Science that helps to restore, maintain and promote optimal physical health. It not only helps to diagnose the extent & nature of neurological, muscoskeletal as a sports related impairment but also applies scientific management strategies to treat them. Physiotherapy is a Health Care profession concerned with the assessment, maintenance and restoration of physical functions and performance. The contribution of physiotherapy to India's Health Care System is linked inextricably to the changes that shaped our country from treating of War Amputees or Earthquake Injured to Polio Patients. The innovative therapies of the much acclaimed physiotherapy carved a niche for itself.

Research by the students is a never ending process in the institute's research labs. In a short span of five years, more than 300 papers have been presented by the various members of the department at various National and International Conferences. The students have already completed successful dissertations on topics like MNCV, EMG, Isokinetic Dynamometer, Skin Sensory and Thermal Threshold Analyzer, Body Composition, Trigger Point Determination, LASER, Combo Electro Therapy Unit and Gait Analysis at various National level Institutes/Hospitals.
