The 21st century has brought with it a rapidly changing world
characterized by falling market barriers. The need of the hour is a
manager who can function effectively and effortlessly in this demanding
environment and exploit emerging IT, communication and process
technologies to the advantage of the enterprise. To lead industry in
this new era, one also needs self-reliant "intrapreneurs" who can
provide the necessary vision and leadership. As always, however, such a
manager must also be able to create a synergy among all the components
of the organization he/she manages.
Information Technology has become an integral part of any process aimed to scale up operations in any sector. With the outsourcing wave breaching the international boundaries businesses have become more complex and so has the process of managing the associated information flows. There is an ever growing need of managers who understand the business processes better and who can use the technology to the advantage of the client. A separate programme with the focus on managing information arena was thus instigated. The course includes a wide spectrum of topics which enable students to move into the areas of Business Analysis, IT Marketing, Business Development (pre-sales) and Project Management. In addition to the classroom training, students get an opportunity to have hands-on learning in the latest technologies which are being used to spruce up the businesses the world over. Guest faculties from prestigious organizations are invited to enrich the learning experience of the students. This 2 year residential course aims at developing:
*An aptitude for identifying business needs and transforming them into IT systems, for global enterprises in various sectors.
*An understanding in three main areas of IT management (IT enterprise management, knowledge and information management, and Internet and Web technologies).
