The specialisation aims at training individuals in Global Business with the expertise to become a Global Trader with adequate knowledge to handle International Trading and Financial Transactions. With increasing globalisation and liberalised promotional policies of the Govt of India to enhance foreign trade, an exposure to International Trade scenario would expand the horizon and outlook of the participants. Under the W.T.O agreement, the services negotiations have played an important role along with agricultural and NAMA negotiations. In fact under services, banking, Insurance, along with consultancy services occupies a pride of place. As service sector fully opens, it will increase the global trade manifold, creating hundreds of jobs. The study of subjects related to International trade, coupled with the advantages that EMPI offers in development of personality, expertise and skills honed during their stay at EMPI, aims to produce globally competent business managers. The course curriculum is structured in such a way that the students will be equipped with all the nuances of finance and international business and prepares them to man the managerial jobs likely to emanate in the future.

With globalization and liberalization, since 1991, International trade has been subject to vicissitudes of global events, currency fluctuations etc. necessitating an international trader to have an in-depth knowledge of these aspects. The programme aims to highlight the understanding of various functional areas of International Markets such as Global Marketing, International Banking, Supply Chain Management and use of Information Technology. This is achieved through various Conferences, Workshops, Seminars, Projects, Industrial Visits and country/product specific research activities. This would provide the knowledge so essential to start a business right from the fundamentals of export business idea generation, opportunity evaluation to the culmination by executing profitable export/import business. The course interalia also includes case studies in financial aspects of international business, hedging techniques, escrow account management, commodity exchange operations, etc.
