The Post Graduate Department of Applied Zoology was started in 1993, Keeping in view of access to natural resources and scenic beauty around the University Campus. The Department offers M.Sc., & Ph.D. degrees in Applied Zoology & Wild life Sciences. The Department is well equipped with Instruments, facilities and infrastructure. And is supported by four permanent and four guest faculty members, and four non-teaching staff. Major thrust areas of the research in the Department include Genetics, Sewage treatment by stabilization ponds, Bio diversity, wetland limnology, Eco-toxicology, Fisheries & Sericulture. M.Sc., students are trained in various applied aspects of Zoology, namely Genetics, Sericulture, Environmental pollution, Toxicology, biotechnology & Bio-diversity. During the past Fourteen years of existence, the Department produced Fifteen Ph.Ds., Ten M. Phils. and published more than two hundred research papers in various peer reviewed journals of India and abroad.
