Ph.D:Botany

Mizoram University in the current Scenario has changed immensely since the recent move of the main administration to its permanent campus at Tanhril . The University is now well consolidated in its main campus however, the Sports Cell, the Medical Clinic and Central Library as well as a few remaining academic Departments, continue to function in Aizawl and will be moved to the permanent campus shortly.

The Course of Botany was established in March 2005, while post-graduate classes began in August 2006. The department is now functioning with two readers, three lecturers and one technical assistant. Students are being trained in modern areas of plant science with extensive laboratory investigations; equal emphasis is given to providing knowledge of classical Botany. The existing PG syllabus is under revision in order to include recent advances in plant science. Research programmes concentrating on the fundamental as well as applied aspects of plant science have been initiated in the department.
