The University of Delhi offers Ph.D. in Botany course to its students.
It is offered by the Department of Botany and under the Faculty of SCIENCE.
The Department of Botany located on the North Campus was established in 1947. The Department is a premier centre of teaching and research in plant sciences. Its rigorous standards and scholarship attract students and researchers from all over India and from other countries. The Department was recognized as a U.G.C. Centre of Advanced Study (CAS) in Botany in 1965. Based on its exemplary performance as a CAS for over 30 years, the Department has been selected for further assistance under the COSIST programme. The additional funding has led to improvisation and acquisition of equipments both for teaching and research laboratories. The Department has celebrated its Golden Jubilee in 1997 with pride at its achievements and with a firm determination to stay in the forefront in the years ahead (At present, the Department has about 100 M.Sc., 18 M.Phil. and 60 Ph.D. students).
