The School is established to disseminate knowledge and carry out research in the field of Geophysics, Geology, Geography, Geospatial Sciences, Atmospheric Sciences. The School started with Geoinformatics Course due to greater need to understand the geospatial domain of the State of Andhra Pradesh. Subsequently, a highly promising 5 year integrated course Course in Petroleum Exploration was offered as huge fossil fuel endowment is there in Krishna Godavari Basin.
