Ph.D. in Law

The University of Mumbai offers Ph.D. in Law course to its students. The course structure for it is as follows:

Ph.D. admission will generally be restricted to the students who have obtained the LL.M. degree of this University or of any other University recognised by this University as equivalent thereto with minimum of fifty-five percent marks. and fifty percent marks in the case of Reserve Category.A student who has obtained the LL.B. degree may be admitted to the Ph.D. degree if - he has to clear an aptitude test conducted by the concerned Department of the University.

A candidate for Ph.D. Degree must have worked for a minimum period of two years (24 months) from date of registration. A student with LL.B. degree is required to work for a minimum period of three academi calendar years. For the Ph.D. Student is required to be in residence in Mumbai for the full period during which he is keeping terms and to meet his guiding teacher from time to time.
