The department of Urology & Nephrology in A.J. Hospital offers a comprehensive service to diagnose and treat kidney disorders, stone disease, urological cancers, incontinence, infertility, impotence, and other urinary difficulties. The services offered are-

Lithotripsy

A painless method of treating kidney stones without surgery, using the extra corporeal shock waves. We have "Dornier", one of the best machines available for the purpose, which uses ultrasound for focusing and shock waves are del ivered by advanced computerized system. It is a very safe procedure done as a day care procedure and without any anesthesia.


Endo Urology / Laparoscopy / Retroperitoneoscopy

The department is equipped with the most modern endoscopes to treat all the problems in upper and lower urinary tract, from neonates to adults.

The urinary stones are treated by Percutaneous Nephro Lithotripsy (PCNl), Uretero-Reno-Scopy (URS) or Cysto-Lithotripsy (ClT) with the help of which any stone anywhere could be treated avoiding the need for open surgery.

Prostates are treated by Trans Urethral Resection of Prostate (TURP), Bladder tumors are also treated by Trans Urethral Resection of Bladder Tumor (TURBT), which reduces the hospital stay and morbidity.

Paediatric problems like Posterior urethral valves and Vescico-ureteric reflux are also treated endoscopically.

Andrology

In the department the problems related to infertility and erectile dysfunctions are assessed and treated.
The Department also has done many penile implantations for erectile dysfunctions.
