Course programme

-Teaching Pattern of the Course:

The course consist of 12 academic months, out of which initial 9 months theoretical as well as hands on practical training on manikins is included. The last 3 months are kept for supervised internship training under the guidance of a Consultant. Being a weekend course every weekend 12 hours teaching will be conducted i.e. on Saturdays (12pm-6pm) and on Sunday's (9am-3pm) for the first 9 months. The practical training is also given in the well-recognized hospitals in the city.

Special consideration will be given to outstation students as well as for working professionals.

MODULE 2 : PATIENT ASSESSMENT

MODULE 3 : AIRWAY MANAGEMENT AND VENTILATION

MODULE 4 : TRAUMA AND MANAGEMENT

MODULE 5 : MEDICAL EMERGENCIES AND THEIR MANAGEMENT

MODULE 6 : ASSESSMENT-BASED MANAGEMENT

MODULE 7 : OPERATIONS

Ambulance operations
Medical Incident Command
Rescue Awareness and Operations
Hazardous Materials Incidents
Crime Scene Awareness

-Examination:

Periodic assessment and a mid-term examination shall be conducted and are contributory to the final result . At the end of the course (i.e. after 9 months) the final examination shall be conducted. It will consist of Theory Total 150 marks MCQ out of which 100 marks for all subjects and 50 marks for Pharmacology.


-Practical:

Total 100 marks for 5 stations.

Candidate will receive the PGDEMS certificate only if he /she procures 50% marks in both the theory and practical examination and completed 3 months internship training successfully.
