Postgraduate in Apparel Merchandising and manufacturing

The growth of Indian apparel industry has been significant in the last decade and has emerged as the key sector for Indian economy. The industry is facing many challenges & competition particularly on price, quality and delivery schedule. To face the challenges, the industry is re orienting. It is modifying its approach and integrating its manufacturing practices, merchandising functions and others aspects to stay in competition. However, industry needs well trained and competent professionals to advice the Industry in these areas.

The programme "Apparel Manufacturing & Merchandising" has been designed in tune with the industry needs and the course curriculum will ensure students are equipped with necessary skills & core competencies in this field.

Ist Year (1-2 Semesters)

The first year with two semesters shall cover subjects such as textiles knowledge, overview of apparel industry, pattern making, garment, construction, computer & CAD application fundamentals of marketing, merchandising, quality management and production methods and techniques. In the first year, basic inputs on design & fashion would also be imparted.

The advance level of knowledge and learning would be acquired by students in the 2nd year through advance pattern making, grading, production management, CAD, domestic and global trade practices, basics of retailing, costing etc.
