 Tutorials and practical sessions (full day with lunch provided)

For the full course, run at Aston University, there will be two intakes per year. Closing date for applications is 1 week prior to the start date.

Requirements: Overview A unique course developed in collaboration with West Midland School of Ophthalmology to prepare ophthalmologists for RCOphth Certificate of refraction (CoR).   We offer a comprehensive a three-day program of tuition over two months, to teach and master the skills needed to succeed in the CoR OSCE examination. Who is the Course For?

Ophthalmologists preparing to undertake RCOphth Certificate of Refraction.

Pre-course preparation & structure

Candidates are expected to complete the free RCOphth online modules before attending the course.

Day 1:  Morning theory and practical demonstrations of relevant refraction skills. Afternoon practice with patients under supervision. 

Day 2:  An afternoon to refresh and practice refraction skills with ‘expert’ patients. 

Day 3:  MOCK examination following the format of the RCOphth CoR followed by a formal feedback.
