Description

The College takes its name after Behan Satyawati, the illustrious freedom fighter of Delhi, remembered for her dedication to various missions. Known for exceptional courage and conviction, Satyawati worked in close association with patriots like Jawaharlal Nehru, Jai Prakash Narayan, and Sarojini Naidu. Lauding her special achievements, Mahatma Gandhi is reported to have said, “She is a very brave girl... I have named her Toofani... Her whole life has been as forceful as a storm”. Her short life, chequered with prison terms, social and political activism, is a source of inspiration to all who believe in freedom as the essential condition for human dignity.

Established in 1973, the College is committed to provide meaningful education which is relevant to the challenges of the new millennium. In keeping with the objectives of a dynamic institution, the college seeks to sensitive students, both boys and girls to diverse schools of thought through courses in humanities, social sciences and commerce. New courses imparting vocational skills are offered by the College as and when they are made available by the UGC.

Apart from academic pursuits, the college has an established reputation in various sports. Our students have excelled in events like Wrestling, Weight Lifting, Body Building and Judo at Inter-University, National and International competitions. Traditional games like Kabaddi are also encouraged to sustain our indigenous heritage.
