The EMFOL MSc in Animal-Derived Foods met my expectations of a world-class academic programme. My professors are basically the authors of some of the books and journal articles that I have based my previous and current research on. Further, they are very approachable and motivating, especially in pursuing deeper knowledge and experience in food science. Lastly the international student department is highly efficient and reliable. You are assured that you are well taken care of.

I was on the York-CEU mobility track. York provided a strong theoretical focus on public administration and public policy, while CEU’s array of classes and rigorous attention to practical application of policy skills vastly increased my ambition for future employment. Further, the diverse student body allowed me to become familiar with systems and institutions across the world in a manner in which I never thought possible. These scholastic attributes combined with the opportunity to live in two magnificent – if diametrically different – European cities, proved to be a unique and awesome experience that I would recommend to anyone. Currently, I am working at the Center for Media and Communication Studies, where I am continuing work that I began during my studies at CEU, and have initiated a new project on Internet Freedom of Expression in coordination with an international NGO.

My two years as an Erasmus Mundus scholar has transformed my life in surprising ways. I came into the program having already worked in a professional environment for a number of years, and I had strong expectations for what I needed from the program. Yet I found that while I indeed gained the tools I desired, the program offered me much more.

QEM has equipped me with various tools in advanced methodologies and models in economics and the possibility of connecting ideas from financial modeling, game theory and econometrics to modeling life situations. These experiences has instilled in me the interest for research and further study. Through QEM, I am now familiar with some European cultures and languages.

Description
The Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) is a public Higher Education Institution offering study programs in most undergraduate and postgraduate fields. It hosts 43.000 students and has over 5.000 staff members. The UAB is a campus based University with high quality study and research activities.
The internationalisation of the UAB has been an important issue in the last years; indeed, on November 2008 the university has officially inaugurated an own office in Shanghai. The new governing team that started last January has confirmed its commitment with UAB's internationalisation process. The establishment of agreements with universities of other countries has enabled our students, teachers and researchers to collaborate through exchanges and joint projects with universities from many countries of the world. The UAB receives a large number of international students from Europe, Latin America and Asia, among other areas.
