Description

To uphold the Sanatan values of life and to render quality education Brahmavart Sanatan Dharm Mahamandal, the parent body of V.S.S.D. College, was founded in 1916, seeking inspiration from Swami Dayanandji, a great philosopher and promoter of Hindu dharma. However, the Sanatan Dharma college, later known as V.S.S.D. college, was established in 1921 under the guardianship of Rai Bahadur babu Vikramajit Singh.


From its very inception, the college was famous as a college of commerce to award Diploma in commerce and was affiliated to Bombay University. In 1923 the college got affiliation from Allahabad University, Allahabad University to award the degree of Bachelor of Commerce (B. Com.). The classes for Bachelor's and Master's degree in different other subjects began in 1925. Later in 1927 the college was affiliated to Agra University and L.L.B. classes started. B.Sc. classes were started in 1956 whereas the M.Sc. classes began in 1964. Since 1967, the college is affiliated to C.S.J.M.University Kanpur. The college presently runs various study programs under sixteen departments of six different faculties, namely, Arts, Commerce, Science, Teacher Education. Law and Physical Education.


This college has also evolved as a study centre for distance education affiliated to U.P. Rajarshi Tandon Open University, Allahabad. The study center provides teaching assistance to the students registered in Diploma Courses like Journalism, Tourism, Financial Accounting, B.Lib., M.B.A. etc. F
