The course of Pharmacy has played major roles in the transformation of pharmacy from a professional practice orientation to one that includes major basic and clinical research activities. The mission of the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences is to educate students in pharmacy practice and the pharmaceutical sciences and to provide services to the community at large based upon this knowledge. The mission recognizes pharmaceutical care as a mode of pharmacy practice within the health care team in which the patient is empowered to achieve the desired outcomes of drug and related therapy. The mission also recognizes that research in the broad area of the clinical and basic pharmaceutical sciences is necessary to create and maintain a body of knowledge needed for professional education, health care delivery and the advancement of science.
Department organizes seminar, workshops and guest lectures from experts in the field of Pharmacy to enhance the knowledge and skills of the students and faculty members The objectives of the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences and of its components are defined as follows:
To promote those standards of education that will prepare students to enter the profession of pharmacy with an appropriate background of scientific, professional and clinical knowledge and practice skills, and that will prepare them for professional practice and life-long learning.
To encourage in all students those ethics, professional attitudes and ideals that are most appropriate for the exercise of professional duties and responsibilities
