The recent developments of Polymer Technology have revolutionized the field of material science increasing the use of polymer based substances from building materials to Packing materials, Fancy decoration articles, Electrical engineering, Communications, Automobile, Aircrafts, etc.
Polymer Technology has carved a niche in the fields of electronics and electrical materials, textiles, aerospace industry, automobile industry, etc. She has been able to tailor the industry needs to suit the specifications provided.

The course aims to provide the students with a profound education on educational and industrial activities with a special emphasis on advanced processing concept, design, development, computer aided plant design, fabrication technology, polymer processing and polymerization engineering, etc. These areas have been highlighted as they represent the needs of the industry.

The programme will develop the skills necessary to synthesize and characterize polymeric materials, convert polymers into commercial plastics and rubbers and mould the materials into products applying principles of mould design and specifying and controlling polymer processing conditions for fabrication. The course will also provide personnel experienced in industrial practice with the theoretical framework and ample experience in its application to practical problem solving.
