Educational Criteria 1. Degree in Electrical Electronic Engineering or Diploma in Electrical Electronic Engineering from any recognised reputed institute. 2. Minimum 50% total aggregate marks for Degree. 3. Minimum 60% total aggregate marks for Diploma is compulsory. 4. Minimum 50% marks in English in any one of the following :- a. Class X b. Class XII c. Diploma d. Degree. Age Below 25 years. (for 2010 academic year admission, candidate must be born after 16.08.1985)
Short term certified program for Degree and Diploma holders in Electrical Engineering. Diploma holders join and undergo two months bridging program. Degree holders join then and the main course of 4 months is conducted for all.
The main course of four months is approved by the DNV Seaskills, a branch of Det Norsk Veritus, Norway. The course is structured and conducted as per the DNV standards. Practical hands-on training on live equipment and simulator based training are emphasized during this course along with 4 theory subjects.
On successful completion of training from RLINS a student will be eligible to obtain necessary documentation from authorities and join merchant ships as a Trainee Electrical Officer.
Four short term STCW courses (PST, PSSR, EFA & FPFF) which are compulsory for any one who aspires to join the merchant navy, will be conducted during semester holidays.
