Piping & accessories constitute over 25% of the total capital investment in the chemical process industry, petroleum & petrochemical industry, pharmaceutical industry, power plants, long distance LNG / LPG / CNG Piping Systems & Irrigation Systems.
Piping design helps system designers, mechanical, packaging, and manufacturing engineers to accurately design, route document, and produce complex piping and tubing systems while optimally re-using designs for dramatic time savings and improvements in productivity.
A variety of global challenges like corrosion prevention, pipeline maintenance, leak detection in long distance pipelines, pipe coating, concrete coating, bending, welding and deep water services, pipeline cleaning, pipeline operating efficiency etc in itself demands a specialised stream in Piping design and engineering.
A Piping engineer plays an important role in "Concept to Commissioning" in all sectors of process and related industries. A Piping engineer has to be conversant with subjects such as fluid handling, stress strain relationship, material of construction, field instrumentation, statutory & safety aspects. Areas like design and selection of complex equipment applications, designing of audit requirements and developing of procedures for testing, installation, commissioning and startup also fall under his profile. With increasing emphasis on transportation of petroleum products, natural gas, corrosive hazardous chemicals, through underground and long distance pipelines, the requirement of skilled piping engineers is increasing day by day.

Fee Structure –
For Indian Resident: Total Fees Rs. 22000/- (Inclusive of Prospectus Fee, Registration Fee and Course Fee)
For NRI / Foreign Resident: USD 2200/- (Inclusive of Prospectus Fee, Registration Fee and Course Fee)
Exam Fee Per Attempt:
Exam fees per subject per attempt Rs. 200 / US $ 50 has to be paid by D.D at the time of Examination. For Subsequent attempts the exam fees will be Rs. 200 per subject / US $ 50 Payable at the time of examination. Total Fees to be paid in full at the time of admission in the form of Demand Draft drawn in favour of "MIT School of Distance Education" Payable at Pune.
Duration: One Year.
Validity of Registration: Two Years.
Eligibility: Engineering Graduate or Diploma holder with three years of experience
