Advanced Diploma Course in Linguistics
Every candidate seeking admission to the Advanced Diploma Course in Applied Linguistics must have passed the Masters Degree Examination of the Delhi University or an examination recognized as equivalent thereto along with the Post M.A. Diploma in Linguistics and possess such other qualifications, as may be prescribed by the Regulations.
Classification of results: Students who obtain a minimum of 25% in each of the written papers and 50% in the aggregate will be awarded the Advanced Diploma in Applied Linguistics. Those who obtain 75% marks or above in the aggregate will be declared to have passed with distinction.
Attendance: No candidate will be allowed to appear at the examination unless he has attended at least 75% of the total lectures delivered and has pursued studies to the satisfaction of the Head of the Deptt. of Linguistics.
The Department has been fortunate in attracting linguists trained in good academic institutions abroad and in India and is regarded as one of the major centres for linguistic studies and research in India. It has sophisticated equipment in its Phonetics Laboratory. It has a Computer Lab with a Xerox Machine to facilitate the research activities of the Department.
It has its own Library which has a collection of latest books and journals in Linguistics.
In recognition of the academic achievements of the Department, the University Grants Commission has selected it for its Special Assistance Programmes (SAP) to further strengthen the teaching and research activities of the Department.
Advanced Diploma Course in Linguistics
