Information Technology department of the NGI has focused itself with the main objectives of providing a long term and reliable source of manpower to the IT industry, with diverse skills; for its ever expanding software export business and to contribute significantly through consultancy and R&D to the emerging information, It is a well-established and outstanding department among the best. We have excellent faculty with both industrial and academic experience from premier organizations and few experts as a part of us for guest lecturing from reputed institutions like IIT's. The department also interacts with other divisions to develop meaningful hardware structure with emphasis for a realizable hardware & software solution.

The department also organizes technical activities such as seminars, paper presentation, quiz, short-term courses etc. so that there is an overall development of the students. A separate placement and information cell has been established which looks after the placement and competitive exams information database like GRE, GMAT and TOEFL.

Very well equipped laboratories support the department for all the subjects with state-of-art facility and technology and there are 250 plus computers including latest P4 processors from HCL Corporation. The department has all the required software and software development kits as per University curriculum.

In the past few years several universities have been taken the initiative to start undergraduate and post graduate programme in Information Technology. The subject is also being offered to all branches of engineering and technology, management pharmacy and science students. UP technical university and other universities for the core subject offered to B.Tech. & M.B.A. It is an attempt to provide the basic learning material to the beginners in the field of information technology. It provides the systematic presentation of information technology principles and practice and caters to the requirements of a first course on the subject.

It is being useful & used by people of all age and professions, in their work as well as in their Leisure. This new social revolution has changed the basic concept of computing in today's information age, is more limited to computers programmers and computer engineers. It has become an activity of a common man. Rather than knowing how to program a computer, most computer users simply need to understand how a computer functions and what all it can do. Even those who need to program a computer, can do their job more effectively, with a better understanding of how computers functions and their capabilities and limitations.
