The Indian Board of Alternative Medicine offers a Doctor of Oriental Medicine (O.M.D.) distance learning course which is highly recommended for those seeking a lifetime career as a holistic healer. The course duration is 18 Months (2 Semesters of 9 months each). However, it may be completed in a shorter duration based on the student's ability and performance.
Learning oriental medicine means learning to consider the mind and spirit of the patient as well as the physical body.The Doctor of Oriental Medicine course prepares the students for an exhaustive knowledge and practice in all aspects of Traditional Chinese Medicine such as Chinese Herbal Medicine, Acupuncture, Qi Gong, Shiastu, Oriental Philosophy, Oriental Diagnosis, etc. in addition to Human Health Sciences in respect to its application in Oriental Medicine.
