History is one of the largest subject areas on the Humanities & Social Sciences. This gives us the choice of courses offering a wide range of approaches - political, cultural, social, economic and gendered - to the study of History.
History graduates have become speechwriters to ministers, quizmasters on national television, prominent members of state and federal parliament, merchant bankers, international aid workers, journalists, public servants, teachers, broadcasters and writers. They travel, write books, make documentary films, and contribute to society in many different ways. They are employed in such public organizations as government departments, the Australian Broadcasting Commission, museums and archives. They work in heritage and environmental agencies, trade unions, on native title and legal aid issues.
