Advanced Diploma in Fashion Design

Program Description

Develop self-motivation & unique thinking skills. Through coursesin concept development, studio methods, fashion drawing, and fashion digital studio, you will take part in each stage of the design process. From concept to production to market introduction, you will learn the process, skills, and language of the fashion design. You will confront the challenges of the real world of the fashion industry while cultivating your own personal vision. Learning to solve problems for a range of markets will be part of the curriculum.

Program curriculum
Module 1 : Fashion fundamentals

* Fashion Details
* Color Theory
* Fashion Workshop

At the end of this module, students would have been introduced to the fundamentals of design.

Module 2 : DESIGN STUDIES

* Art Direction
* Mixed Media Drawing and Rendering
* Design Theory

On completion of this module, the students would have understood the display environments

Module 3 : FASHION STUDIES

* Fashion Fundamentals
* Fashion Illustration
* Fashion Drafting

During the course of this module, hand rendered techniques and processes in art and design would have been conveyed effectively providing the future designers with a wider range of graphic generating skills.

Module 4 : FASHION TECHNICAL STUDIES

* Pattern Draping
* Sewing Techniques
* Textile Design

In the end of this module, students will be able to drape and construct basic garments from fabrics. They will learn to identify the required sewing material and describe the operation of the various parts of an industrial sewing machine.

Module 5 : DESIGN APPRECIATION

* Fashion CAD
* Accessories Design & Styling

In this module, studentswill be exposed to the application that the fashion industry uses most. Students will explore into various aspects of men´s and children´s wear as well as styling their collection with all kinds of accessories.

Module 6 : DESIGN MANAGEMENT

* Integrated Marketing Communication
* Fashion Retail Management

In this module, students will understand the difference between merchandising and marketing and comprehend retail institution by operations.

Module 7 : DESIGN MAJOR

* Major Project

In this module, students are required to work on a specialist project which should evidence a broad understanding of all elements whiting graphic design in the form of a full campaign or a few strong major items that are consistently linked together

Module 8 :PROFESS IONAL PRACTICE

* Professional Studio Practice

At the end of this semester, students will graduate with highly relevant vocational experience. This programme aims to develop conceptual and execution skills in live studio environments individually, or within project groups, managed by creative directors, art directors and other studio leaders, handling live studio projects ranging from corporate identities to full advertising campaigns.
