The emerging consumer is more demanding than ever in today's increasingly competitive environment. Today's customer is more information centric, brand and quality conscious and is very keen to exercise his bargaining power.

Successful retailers are being challenged to effectively blend science and art in a multi-channel setting, to attract and retain customer loyalty - adding to their offer varieties of merchandise, interesting formats, and electric atmospherics.

The Retail Management & Marketing program was established in response to growing demand from major retail organizations for high quality managers in retailing. The Indian retail landscape is witnessing an astonishing boom, about $368 billion estimated by 2008 (CII-AT Kearney Report), out of which only 3% of Rs. 14,40,000 crore market is in the organized sector.

The increasing scale, complexity and competitiveness of Retailing requires professional managers capable of running enterprise-class businesses. These managers need to be able to lead large teams, use modern information systems and take advantage of new opportunities across the industry spectrum, from innovative HR strategies to developments in Information Technology.

Retailing is a large and dynamic sector of the economy, and many Indian retailers are among the world's most highly respected and innovative businesses. Retail organizations are recruiting an increasing number of trained management students each year.

Designed in collaboration with industry professionals and tailored to the needs of modern retail organizations, the Post Graduate Diploma program in Retail Management & Marketing is aimed at developing multi-skilled, managerial talent for this sector. Our teaching team includes faculty recruited from senior positions in retail companies. We have close working relationships with retailers, who provide guest lecturers, case studies, skills workshops and company visits.
